100% Codex Food Grade Fossil Shell Flour (Diatomaceous Earth) is FDA approved, all-natural and safe for animal consumption up to 2% of feed by weight.
How it Works
Earth is composed of diatoms, which are tiny fossilized shells of marine plants. Over time these algae-like plants form a naturally occurring siliceous compound containing minerals such as silicon, calcium, sodium, magnesium, and iron. When ground up these diatoms have the look and feel of talcum powder. However, at a microscopic level that is undetectable to humans, this powder has razor sharp edges.
Ultimately, Diatomaceous Earth works by dehydration. The diatom is composed mostly of air making it ideal for liquid or fluid absorption. Diatomaceous Earth quickly absorbs fluids. Diatomaceous Earth is the perfect answer.
- Household: Sprinkle on counters, under cabinets, and around foundation.
- Gardens: Coat plants and surrounding soil.
- Pets: Will not harm pets licking their fur.
- Grain Storage: Add 2% Diatomaceous Earth by weight. One application lasts the life of food storage.
Safe for children and pets! Will not harm earthworms!
Why Natural is Better
Natural cost less than buying dangerous chemicals. It is also safer for your children, pets, natural wildlife and the environment. Unfortunately, homeowners use about three times the amount of chemicals as farmers. These chemicals when found in the home are tracked in on shoes and equipment. The U.S. Geological Survey routinely finds water contaminated with chemicals used by single family homes.
More on Pests
Diatomaceous Earth has been claimed as a natural barrier against ants, fleas, ticks, cockroaches, earwigs, slugs, beetles, flies, silverfish, mites, bedbugs, cabbage root flies, carrot root flies, and more! On our web site we do not claim Diatomaceous Earth to be more than what the FDA has approved it for, a feed additive. Diatomaceous Earth is to be mixed at a rate not to exceed 2% of the total dry feed weight.
