Rock Dust

100% trace element fertilizer gives plants everything they need

Like a tea bag that’s been overused, soil too can reach a point where it is no longer as viable as it once was. Successive crops, year after year, can take out essential minerals and leave behind soil that has been completely depleted.

Rock Dust organic powder can help revitalize “soured” soils, replacing mineral elements that plants need to grow.

Rock Dust is safe and easy to use, containing only 100% natural rock powder that is:
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Non-toxic
  • Readily soluble
  • Enhances root fertility
  • Will not “burn” plants or seedlings
Rock Dust is the perfect additive for mineral depleted soils. Give your plants something they really need, order Rock Dust mineral power today!

Application:

For best results, sprinkle Rock Dust around the base of the plants, bushes, shrubs or flowers you wish to treat, or mulch directly into the soil. One 50 lb bag can treat over 1,000 feet of top soil.

How Rock Dust restores minerals to the soil

Rock Dust contains over 28 distinct elements that are found to be lacking in heavily farmed soils. Adding Rock Dust mineral content to a soil increases bacterial activity and promotes new root growth. These extended root systems allow plants to increase their mineral intake, and provide for stronger, healthier plants. The stronger a plant becomes, oftentimes the better the yield, producing bigger, brighter, more flavorful fruits and vegetables.

Rock Dust is safe and easy to apply, and provides both a quick burst of minerals and a slow, continual feed as the mineral content is broken down over time and absorbed. Using Rock Dust with heavy feeder crops such as corn or lettuce can help provide the plants with all the minerals they need and keep soil mineral levels from getting too low and stressing the plants.

Rock Dust makers a great additive to potting soils and works in tandem with other soil amendments, such as Nitron A -35 or compost. Rock Dust can help your garden reach it’s maximum potential, and is a proven method for restoring minerals to your plant soil.

Rock Dust application no longer viewed as alternative

Organic gardening has in times past been a misunderstood methodology. But as more and more people experience first hand the harmful side effects such as sickness, water contamination, and air pollution derived from traditional chemical farming techniques, they are embracing more earth friendly alternatives.

For centuries, the people of the remote Hunza Valley of Pakistan have farmed soil irrigated and treated with "glacial milk" also known as rock dust. These people are thought to have descended from left behind soldiers of Alexander the Great’s failed Asian invasion, and will routinely live to the age of 100 or older. And while diet and other factors have certainly contributed to this amazing longevity, many agronomists theorize that the Hunza people are direct examples of the benefits related to the plant borne minerals in their diet.

The use of rock dust, also known as rock flour, was first championed in the early 1890’s by a German miller known as Julius Hensel. Mr. Hensel authored the book Bread from Stones, in which he experimented with “dusting” or what is now known as remineralization and reported successful results using steinmehl (German for stone meal). Though his results were good, opponents at the time included fertilizer companies and chemists aligned with these companies, who worked together to discredit his ideas. It wasn’t until hundreds of years later that Bread from Stones was viewed as a forerunner for modern organic farming.

Today, increased mainstream research has been devoted to the soil amending benefits of rock flour application. A pilot project on the use of glacial rock, granite and basaltic fines has been commissioned by the U.S. Department of Agriculture at the Henry A. Wallace Beltsville Agricultural Research Center in Maryland and is currently underway. This research center, also refereed to as BARC, is the largest agricultural research complex in the world and serves as a test bed for new ideas and alternative growing methods.
